Caitlin recently joined the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission and started in the spring of 2023. As the Director of Public Relations and Communication Initiatives, Caitlin is responsible for overseeing external and internal communications for the organization including media relations, public outreach, and creative services. Since coming on board, she has been focused on building the organization’s reputation, developing internal and external communication processes, and increasing awareness about the many programs and services offered. She oversees a team of three staff members, and collectively, they execute all the aspects that are involved in the organization’s strategic communication initiatives. Her professional background is in the political and public affairs realm, having spent many years working for two members of Congress and at a public relations firm. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism (magna cum laude) from The George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
