Leann joined the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission in 2015. As Manager of our Active Transportation Program, she leads regional efforts to advance safe, accessible, and connected walking, bicycling, and trail networks throughout the 10-county region. Her work includes regional active transportation planning and policy development, providing technical assistance to local governments, communities, and trail organizations, coordinating with regional and state partners, and working across SPC programs to integrate active transportation into broader multimodal planning, operations, and safety initiatives. She also develops resources and initiatives that help communities plan for and implement active transportation improvements.
Leann leads implementation of SPC’s Regional Active Transportation Plan and sponsors our quarterly Active Transportation Forum to provide education, networking opportunities, and technical guidance on multimodal planning and policies, safety, and other active transportation issues.
Leann earned her AICP certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) through the League of American Bicyclists. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Regional Planning and Geography and a Master of Science degree in Geography/Geographic Information Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
